On the question of succession
There is no successor to the Standard. There is only the next hand.
We are frequently asked who will carry OFFICIAL PEACE forward when the present bearers can no longer lift it. The question misunderstands the architecture of the Movement.
There is no throne. There is no transfer. The Standard is held by whoever is presently holding it, and laid down for whoever next chooses to lift it. The plate does not care whose hand it is in.
Continuity is not a person. Continuity is the practice.
