On the matter of noise

Issued from the desk of the Standard Bearer, this communiqué affirms the founding posture of OFFICIAL PEACE: that the loudest room in any nation is the one in which a citizen chooses silence over spectacle.

We do not measure progress by decibels. We measure it by the steadiness of the hand that holds the standard. A movement that must shout to be heard has already lost the argument.

Let the record show: from this day forward, restraint is to be regarded as the highest civic virtue. The Standard endures because it does not bend toward the microphone.
